2019 Honda Odyssey Redesign and Changes

Honda Odyssey was too late for a complete redesign, and Honda finally succumbed to the shout for a new minivan with the redesigned Odyssey 2018. With this new look still fresh, we expect almost no changes to the Odyssey 2019.

This new Odyssey is a refreshing attempt from an old generation minivan, but this is not a surprising rework. It retains the basic proportions of the previous model, but gets some extra styling touches that punched it, like a more stylish front end, toothed doors, and a swooping windshield. All these design cues must remain the same in the Odyssey 2019.

The fifth-generation Odyssey generation raises performance standards, cabin calm, family-friendly interior space, comfort and connectivity in the minivan segment. Increased comfort and comfort features like standard Honda Sensing technology, new Audio Display system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and new Magic Slide second row seats.

Topline Touring trim list of premium features and premium technology available include CabinWatch day / night video monitor, PA system in cabinTalk cabin, LTE in-car 4G LTE in-car, new rear entertainment system with Blu-ray and streaming video, hands-free power tailgate, ventilated front seats, LED accent lighting and more. With the new 3.5-liter SOHC i-VTEC V6 engine, which offers 32 more horsepower than before, and a new 10-speed automatic transmission and new speeds available with standard paddle shifter, the Odyssey 2019 offers better fuel savings. It also adds a suite of driver and support technologies to Honda Sensing as standard on all trims.

2019 Honda Odyssey Interior

In Honda Odyssey 2019, Honda focuses primarily on functionality rather than style on its 2018 redesign, as the most important changes include innovative second-line sliding seats, strengthened leg room and new push-button transmissions. We expect the look and feel of the Odyssey cabin to remain the same in 2019.

Safety is not a problem for the redesigned Odyssey, as the 2018 model receives the rank of IIPA Top Safety Pick Plus. This is thanks to the “Excellent” rating in all five crash tests, Featured Ranking” in front-end accident prevention and “Measurable” ratings in the main light test.

One thing to keep in mind is that the automated emergency braking system needed to get this rank is part of the Honda Sensing Package, so you’ll have to spend a little extra money to get it. These ratings and features are expected to be brought to the Odyssey 2019 unchanged.

2019 Honda Odyssey Engine Specs

We also expect the 2016 Odyssey powertrain to remain the same. The vehicle currently comes with a 3.5 liter V6 engine with 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. The transitional tasks are handled with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The front-wheel drive will, again, possibly remain the only available drive format, although there are some screaming voices for all wheel drive.

The addition of Honda Sensing to the new VTi-L Odyssey is another step in our plan to introduce a full suite of intelligent driver-assist features and active safety technologies right in the Honda range over the next few years.

So while it will take some time before the Honda Sensing system is standardized across all models and values, we are committed to supporting our safe and convenient customer controls with Honda driver assistance technology.

Jumping into VTi-L raised the price to $ 47,590 – $ 1100 more than before and brought in a new bumper, LED front fog lights and a ‘dark chrome’ finish on the grilles and door handles.

It also makes Honda Sensing the standard, which means adaptive shipping control, forward-collision warning, autonomous emergency braking (AEB), lane departure warning, road departure warning and line maintenance assistance. The car is riding a 17-inch two-tone alloy wheels, and the rear fascia, badge and tailgate are reworked as well.

2019 Honda Odyssey Release date and Price

Although there is no official release date for Honda Odyssey 2019, based on a typical schedule of models, we hope to see it in late spring 2018.

Without changes in stores, we see no reason for the surprising price hike for the 2019 Honda Odyssey. Look to stay near the 2018 model $ 30,930 to $ 47,610 (including destination cost) price range.

The key competitions for the 2019 Odyssey will include Toyota Sienna and Chrysler Pacifica.
